“Rainforest Shmainforest” |
|
The third, and final episode that has greatly influenced me, is Rainforest Shmainforest. During this episode, the kids of South Park are in a group that sings songs to save the rain forest. At the end, they learn not to judge things, without experiencing them. My senior year in high school, there was this kid, who everyone, including me, though was crazy, and weirder that a box of monkeys in the desert. Well one day, most the people in the class was out for some assembly, and somehow we started talking. After talking to the kid, I went from thinking he was a crazy, weird kid, to knowing he was a crazy, weird kid that was pretty cool. That’s what the episode made me realize. Before you pass judgment on a kid, or something like the rain forest, be sure you talk to them, or go there. The cliché, don’t judge a book by its cover, is true. Watching Rainforest Shmainforest helped me understand that you need to experience something, or study something before you have a strong opinion about anything. |
