Americans together in an effort to help the people who need it the most in another country, but it has also turned many Americans against each other because of political stance and egotistical perspectives. The United Nations is an organization of one hundred and ninety-two countries and one of its purposes is to help protect and uphold peace through international collaboration and united security. The U.N. has many systems, such as World Food Programme (WFP) and United Nation Development Programme (UNDP), which has come to the aid of the country Haiti. WFP provides hot meals for an average twenty-four thousand Haitians each day through a network of field kitchens and some six hundred thousand received a two-week ration of rice from January 31st through February 4th. UNDP hired over thirty-two thousand people for their cash-for-work programme to help clean up the rubbish and get rid of waste in tented settlements and common washing areas.
