Looking and feeling the down fall of the economy I look back on my prior job as a Medicare specialist. I see how the economy, the government, has hurt the senior Americans. The ones that have saved all their lives to enjoy retirement, but now a lot of seniors have to go back to work just to make ends meet. I wonder, whether the economy will ever come out of this slump.
My job required that I offer zero premium health care plans that help with the offset of the high cost of medical bills for Medicare recipients. With the health care reform, this cost a high paying job, which made me become unemployed. As of right now I am still unemployed and I am going to school to get a higher paying job too better me and my family’s lives. This plan saved people a lot of money with no increase in their pocketbooks. Most of these people have saved and I made a living offering this to them. Unfortunately, the government is putting an end to this zero premium plan. This is just one downfall of the economy, another bad deal for the middle class Americans and another bad deal for seniors.
Another big complaint of normal Americans is the loss of their savings. This loss is as little as nothing to as much all of their life savings. Americans that have scratched and saved all of their lives just to lose a portion of all of the money they had in retirement. I have to as myself, “what is the problem with our wonderful countries economy?” is it the government? Is it companies’ greed? Who or what is to blame? Do these people have time to make their losses back? No one knows. It might not ever get made up. This has hurt the core of America.
The cost of just living has shot out of the roof. The gas, the driving force in America has sky rocketed and the gas companies are making record profits. This single thing raises the price of everything that we use to eat. The basic mode of transportation, the food on our table, and everything in between goes up in price. Sure there are great bounds to produce a alternative fuel, but with decades of trying there is no big improvement to alternative sources of fuels. Gas prices has affected me because prices have went up witch has made it hard to have any extra money for clothes, shoes, and the necessities for life. Of course we have to keep on trying to replace oil with some sort of cheaper, cleaner form of living.
Some younger people do not understand what the outcome of the economy is this could lead to. It leaves our security very vulnerable. We as a nation need to somehow bring out economy back to a nation where a person who works can make a living for his family.
I hope we get there soon. . |
