The United States government has failed the American people: power and greed has created a monster in Washington D.C that feeds off its people. In 2009, during the worst recession since the Second World War, law makers in Frankfort, Kentucky gave themselves a 42 percent pay increase, an average increase of more than 67,000 dollars per years, each. This is more than twice the annual income of the average Kentucky family. In 2009 over 4,000 new laws were passed in the United States, it is the responsibility of each American to know each law. The Criminal Justice System in this once great nation. States that, ignorance is no excuse for the law, which means if you don’t know these laws, it’s your fault! Legalism has run amuck, along with power hungry politicians and their bloated salaries. Slavery is alive and well in this country, and more profitable than ever before. The people of this once great nation have become little more than tax revenue generating slaves of elected masters with a whip

The poorest generation in American history, is the generation of today. During the Great Depression, Americans owned what they had, they didn’t have jobs or money, but they did own what little they had. Today the wealth of America is based on its debt, 84 percent of all Americans who own a home, don’t really own it. 87 percent of all Americans who own a car five years old or newer, don’t really own them either. The banking industry, through materialism has taken America hostage. The people of this once great nation have become subservient to large corporations and a tyrannical government that defies the will of its people. The generation of love failed; all those fought and died for the cause were cheated; like Martin Luther King, their dream was turned into a nightmare. The death march has begun; if you listen closely you can hear the mournful cries of America’s descent into the pages of history. Rene DesCartes (sixteenth century philosopher) once said “I think, there for I am.” If Americans don’t stop thinking with their wallets, they wont have a wallet. The Western Dream of Civilization is a nightmare that stretches around the world, When America falls, it wont fall alone. The global economy and technology have made the world a mighty small place. The people of America have learned little from history, now they will be forced to relive it.
