We didn’t have a lot of time to scope things out so we rented an apartment.  As we moved our things into this much smaller living area the thoughts of not wanting to leave the house crossed my mind several times.  I’m pretty sure I cried and finally told my husband that I had changed my mind.  “Lets stay here I don’t want to move!”  But we continued to transport our things form one place to another.  I hated this new place so bad that I hoped I wouldn’t get pregnant while living there.  My husband had even said, “This really wouldn’t be a good time to have a baby.”  Well guess what, we hadn’t even lived there a month and, we of course were still newlyweds; we were without a doubt having a baby.  As the saying goes when you least expect it, it will happen, and it did and we couldn’t have been happier.

During the pregnancy it seemed as if I had also married my place of work.  The long hours of night shift and practically living in the place made me very unhappy.  Besides having the constant thoughts of where we were going to put the baby in this tiny apartment and the disappointment of not being able to prepare a special room for him took some of the excitement away from me.  We made due with the situation and when our son was born none of that silly stuff mattered.

After my so called new mom time was up I had to return back to the hell hole called work.  I started working a lot more overtime, not by choice, so I lost even more precious time with my new baby, it really made me sick, to think that all this time lost I could never get back.  In this world you have to do what the boss man says to keep your job even if it’s at the expense of your family.  Kate was really lucky to be able to quit her job to stay home with her babies.

A year has flown by and our baby is getting so big.  In the work place bad news starts to fill the air, lay off.  By this time I am ready for a little break so I could care less.  Trying to stay positive I don’t think that a lay off will last that long, maybe a month at the longest.  I can’t wait to be with my little boy for this short time period.  Needless to say I’m still unemployed a year later.  I’ve had the best time raising my son and watching him grow it’s so amazing the things that they can do and be so small.

John and Kate after ten years and eight children, divorce.  What a shocking thing to happen.  Their marriage being over they are forced to learn new things and live their separate lives.  The show ends for us the viewers, and Kate adds to the last show “Everything was done for the kids” she just wanted the best for them.  Whether their divorce was really the right thing for them to do, I can say that my divorce from my job was absolutely right for me.  We all have to move on and it may seem that our lives become crazier than they were before.  We try to find happiness and enjoy the time that we have together.  My divorce has led me to make a great life change.  I’m back in college after ten years!  One day down the road I will be so thankful and I’ll have a job that I can enjoy and rely on without making my family pay the consequences.  It might be a crazy life for a little while longer but, it’s our life.
