Depression in adolescents leads to self-esteem problems. They are likely to idealize suicide solution of feeling helplessness and out of guilt. Self-esteem and depression can be from transition in junior high school from elementary. Depression is the concept of self-esteem and a long standing correlation between low self-esteem and depression. Depression and self-esteem may be viewed as a vicious cycle. (Davila, et. al.,

1995).

            The inability to relate positively with others can cause a feeling of low self-esteem. Parents should encourage children to form their own view and to have a secure family relationship to form a basis for exploration. Also Non-popular students that were unclear about their goals and focus on non-social goals were higher incidence of depression, which points to lack of self-esteem. This creates difficulty in social negotiation, leading to low self-esteem, leading to depression. (Lochman.et. al., 1993).

Exercise will increase self-esteem through improve body image and non-competitive sport. Good self-esteem helps to prevent depression. And depression can also cause low self-esteem. If a person thinks negative about themselves can cause low self-esteem. As a person slide into depression their self-esteem and confidence will affect mood vulnerable to depression. So if you feel low and depressed seek help before it cause low self-esteem.
